Hello! I'm Kailey,
I am a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach who specializes in helping you manage diabetes, autoimmune conditions, and navigate life's biggest transitions. Whether you're facing a new medical diagnosis, a career shift, or the daily reality of managing a chronic condition, I provide a safe, creative, and scientifically-grounded space to help you find your footing and build a thriving life.
My approach is unique because my life has been, too. For over 30 years, I’ve navigated the complex world of Type 1 Diabetes. I'm also a creative artist and designer with an MFA in Collaborative Design. This means I don’t just offer coaching; I offer a transformative process that blends proven coaching techniques with creative exploration to help you design a life that feels authentically yours.
BA, Professional Photography (Brooks Institute): I learned to measure light like a scientist and tell stories like an artist. This unique blend taught me that data and creativity are not opposites—they are partners in discovery.
MFA, Collaborative Design (PNCA): I learned to solve "wicked" human-centered problems. For my thesis, I focused on redesigning the patient experience for people with chronic illness, which was my first step toward merging my creative self with my identity as a patient.
This background allows me to help you track data with a scientist's eye while using creative, design-thinking processes to explore what those numbers mean for your life and wellbeing.
My coaching is a structured, evidence-based process built on a strong foundation:
NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach): The gold-standard certification in the coaching industry, ensuring I meet rigorous standards for knowledge and ethics.
HWC - Wellcoaches® Certified Health & Wellness Coach: Trained in proven positive psychology and behavioral change frameworks to create sustainable, lasting results.
I am your expert guide in the process of change. I use proven methods to help you bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually making it a sustainable part of your life, all within a supportive, collaborative partnership.
My expertise isn't just academic; it's deeply personal. I bring a deep understanding of the patient journey to our work, informed by:
A lifetime of navigating T1D and hypothyroidism since childhood, and more recent diagnoses of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and other autoimmune conditions.
Growing up with an anesthesiologist and a psychoanalyst as parents, giving me a unique window into healthcare from multiple perspectives.
Navigating the healthcare system as an adult, from finding insurance without employment to advocating for myself and guiding my younger brother through his own T1D diagnosis at 25.
This experience allows me to provide a uniquely safe, shame-free space. We can focus on building solutions and resilience from a place of shared understanding.
For years, I tried to silo my talents—to be just a coach and leave the creative parts of me behind. It led to an identity crisis. You can read about my breakthrough in my blog post, "Why Creativity in Coaching?".
I realized that my most significant personal breakthroughs came when I stopped just managing my health and started creatively exploring it. The act of creation became a form of healing. Now, my mission is to bring that same powerful fusion of coaching and creativity to you. It’s not about making everyone an artist; it’s about tapping into your innate creativity to design a life that feels authentically, vibrantly yours.
